2021 BMW G 310 R First Look Preview
BMW has revealed an updated G 310 R for the 2021 model year, with updates aimed at making power delivery more smooth and responsive.

The BMW G 310 GS isn’t the only entry-level machine getting updates for 2021. BMW unveiled its 2021 G 310 R during a live-stream presentation this morning, showcasing changes to the throttle, clutch, and aesthetics. These updates are intended to improve the responsiveness of the bike and bring its looks closer to its larger roadster siblings.
The major updates include a new ride-by-wire throttle, which BMW promises will allow for more instant power delivery at initial roll-on and more precise throttle response mid-ride. There is also a new slipper clutch to smooth out downshifts, along with an increase in idle speed to help riders, particularly newer riders, avoid stalling the bike.

The brake and clutch levers have been updated too, now allowing four positions of adjustability.
Additionally, BMW equipped the 2021 G 310 R with LED lighting throughout, utilizing the same C-shape daytime running light as is used on the larger S 1000 R.

Changes to the headlight, side panels, and color scheme are also meant to create a more direct link to the S1000R. The new G 310 R will come in Cosmic Black or Pearl White with blue accents. There will also be a Limestone Metallic with red accent “Sport” colorway available. All three color options will feature new Titanium Gray Metallic covers and grab handles.

Major elements within the 313cc single remain unchanged, as do the suspension and braking components.
There’s no word on any potential price increase from the 2020 MSRP of $4,945, but it’s not out of the question to imagine the bike inching past the $5,000 mark with the updates. Availability details are also not available at this time.
