Between the Ruckus, Grom, Super Cub, Trail, and Monkey, Honda already had an iron grip on the mini motorcycle market in the States. It’s looking to expand that influence further in 2022 with the Navi, which will be new to the North American market when it’s released in January. The newest miniMOTO has some enticing features for new riders and surface-street commuters, including an $1,807 starting price.

In the styling department, it’s clear the Navi owes a lot to the Grom, but its power-delivery is much more akin to the Ruckus scooter. The little streetbike machine will be powered by a 110cc single with fully automatic CVT transmission. This will be a boon to riders with little to no experience, as they’ll be able to simply turn the bike on, twist the throttle, and ride. The small mill allowed designers to integrate a clever storage area down at the base of the frame which provides enough space to hold a laptop.

The bike weighs a scant 236 pounds ready to ride and boasts up to 110 mpg. Seat height is an approachable 30.1 inches and the 12-inch front/10-inch rear wheel setup contributes to its nimble, approachable nature.

A steel frame is suspended by a telescopic fork and single rear shock, and stopping performance is enhanced by the inclusion of Honda’s combined braking system.

“From the original Cub to the Grom, Honda has a proud legacy of producing miniMOTO models that open doors to new riders, and the Navi is set to extend that trend even further,” said Brandon Wilson, Sports & Experiential manager at American Honda, in a company press release. “This miniMOTO checks all the boxes for new riders, like simple operation, a fun design, low operating costs and Honda reliability—all for well under $2,000. We’re pleased to make motorcycling possible for more riders by offering the Navi in the US.”

Riders will have four colors to choose from when the bike is released: Red, Grasshopper Green, Nut Brown, and Ranger Green.
