Cheyanne Buys vs. Gloria de Paula set for July 31 UFC event

The UFC has yet to officially announce the location of the card, but it will likely take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. The headlining attraction for the Fight Night event hasn’t been announced yet. Both strawweights earned a deal with the promotion through Dana White’s Contender Series but lost their debuts this past March. Buys (5-2), who won a decision over Hilarie Rose at DWCS in August 2020, dropped an unanimous decision to Montserrat Ruiz seven months later. Buys was on a four-fight winning streak when she made her UFC debut. De Paula (5-3) also won a decision at Dana White’s scouting program, defeating Pauline Macias after three rounds, but came up short against former Invicta FC atomweight champion Jinh Yu Frey.

I found that gigantic wall and said, ‘this is it.’ And it turned out that it was right around his title fight.” Cavalcante started working on the mural on Friday morning, he said, and only finished it in on Sunday. In total, he spent 24 hours painting the 1,070-square foot mural. “I woke up on Sunday without knowing the result of the fight,” Cavalcante said. “I got a lot of texts saying he won and it was so much celebration. I watched some highlights of the fight and went back to the wall to finish the mural. It was amazing.” Cavalcante shared photos of the whole process on his social media.
