‘Eternals’: Kit Harington Name-Drops Doctor Strange In Brand New TV Spot

A brand new Eternals TV spot features Kit Harington’s character referencing Doctor Strange.

Marvel Studios’ Eternals is almost upon us! The upcoming sci-fi epic directed by Chloe Zhao puts the focus on the titular cosmic beings who arrived on Earth 7,000 years ago to protect us from the pesky Deviants, their counterparts. Since then, the ragtag group of superpowered immortals fractured away and began their own separate lives throughout the world.

Marvel Releases Two Tracks From Ramin Djawadi’s ‘Eternals’ Score

One of the characters we have the most questions about is Kit Harington’s Dane Whitman. From what we’ve seen in the trailers, Whitman looks to be a typical human being without any sort of superpowers like his girlfriend, Sersi. And he’s hot questions. While the Eternals may have kept their identities a secret for several years, recent decades have shown an abundance of heroes popping out of nowhere.

In a brand new TV spot, Kit Harington’s Dane Whitman is seen asking Sersi, played by Gemma Chan, if she’s a “wizard like Doctor Strange” after witnessing her showing off her superpowers. She replies that she’s “perfectly normal”, which is far from the truth.

It’s not surprising that Dane Whitman knows who Doctor Strange is considering he’s one of the most popular heroes. Besides that, Doctor Strange and the Avengers were responsible for fending off Thanos’ second attack on Earth, so Whitman and the Eternals do have something to thank for him.

‘Eternals’ Director Chloe Zhao Explains The Film’s Superman Reference

Here is the synopsis for Chloe Zhao’s Eternals:

“The story takes place across two time periods. One storyline is set in the past when they operated as a formidable team and a close family unit. The second storyline is in the present, when the group has fractured and split apart, content to live among humans, hiding in plain sight. The prevailing threat of the Deviants, which once again threatens the existence of mankind, means the Eternals need to put their differences aside and regroup.”

Chloe Zhao directed Eternals from a script she co-wrote with Patrick Burleigh, Kaz Firpo, and Ryan Firpo. The cast of the Marvel Studios project includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, Salma Hayek as Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as Thena.

Eternals will hit theaters on November 5, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming film and Doctor Strange. You can also subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Director Equates Threequel To ‘Avengers: Endgame’

The Spider-Man trilogy wraps up this December. The post ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Director Equates Threequel To ‘Avengers: Endgame’ appeared first on Heroic Hollywood.

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Director Equates Threequel To ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts has equated the upcoming threequel to Avengers: Endgame in terms of scale and scope.

Avengers: Endgame is pretty much the biggest movie of all time. Sure, it isn’t the highest-grossing film of all time (though it once was until an Avatar re-release in China dropped it down a peg) but the sheer scope of the project was huge. The film assembled almost every hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for its climactic battle, wrapping up a decade-long saga that started in 2008 with Iron Man.

Amy Pascal Recalls Emotional Reaction To Kevin Feige’s MCU Spider-Man Offer

In a way, Spider-Man: No Way Home is trying to one-up Avengers: Endgame by creating a Spider-Verse like narrative that sees previous Spidey villains being brought in, like Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and Jamie Foxx’s Electro. It has also been rumored that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will also pop up in the threequel, making No Way Home a must-watch for three separate generations of Spider-Man fans.

In a recent interview with Empire, director Jon Watts discussed how Spider-Man: No Way Home is just as big and weighty as Avengers: Endgame, equating his threequel to “Spider-Man: Endgame”.

“We’re definitely trying to be ambitious How ambitious? It’s ‘Spider-Man: Endgame’,”

In the same interview for the cover issue of the magazine, Tom Holland revealed how he was originally pitched the idea to see all the previous villains return but didn’t think it would actually be possible.

‘Wow, that would be awesome if we could pull it off. But there’s just no way it’s going to work. You’re just not going to be able to get everyone to do what they need to do. It’s just not going to happen.’ But it did happen. And it’s crazy.”

Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige also spoke to the outlet, revealing how he wanted to bring back Doctor Octopus into the fold but couldn’t imagine anyone else playing the role besides Alfred Molina.

“I remember having discussions with Amy Pascal years ago, ‘Do we want to revisit villains we’ve seen before?’ No, let’s do Vulture, and Mysterio, and characters we haven’t brought to the screen before. But I remember thinking, ‘How would you even do Doc Ock again?’, because Alfred Molina is perfect casting. If you ever brought him back, it would have to be him somehow.”

No Way Home does feel like the proper culmination for the franchise and the fact that previous villains are being brought in through the multiverse is just insane. Two new stills from the film were recently released, with one of the most exciting ones being an image of Spidey running as Doctor Octopus prepares to hurl a car at him.

Tom Holland Talks Working With Alfred Molina In ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

Here is the synopsis for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home:

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.”

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, J.B. Smoove, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Benedict Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Alfred Molina.

No Way Home is currently set to be released on December 17, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
