England vs Croatia in UEFA EURO 2020 Group D is set to take place in London on Sunday 13 June at 15:00.

EURO 2020: England vs Croatia preview

The draw has once again thrown up an England vs Croatia match up for football fans to savour.

England and Croatia famously met in the 2018 World Cup semi-finals in a cliffhanger of a match, they are now set to do battle in a tricky EURO 2020 Group D.

Croatia coach Zlatko Dalić has set out his stall to frustrate the English.

“We will pick the best team we can for this match, we have quality players and we are not afraid,” Dalić said.

“We know that England are very fast, very aggressive in attack, they have top players. We will need to respond with a solid block, but also will look out for possession and try to attack, as only defending will not bring us any good.”

England manager Gareth Southgate is expecting a tight contest and isn’t buying into the Three Lions being favourites.

“We obviously had the disappointment in Moscow. We’ve had two very close games since then. They are a very experienced team, with outstanding players, great mentality, incredible spirit and tactically adaptable, so they really are a big challenge for us for our first game. But we know that we have been able to beat them.”

EURO 2020: England vs Croatia – Team news

Harry Maguire is back in training ahead of the clash with Croatia but the defender is unlikely to feature in the starting XI.

England are believed to have trialled a three-man defence and also tried out Luke Shaw as a left-sided centre back.

For Croatia former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren remains in doubt through injury, so Domagoj Vida and Duje Caleta-Car should partner up in the heart of the defence.

Possible line-ups

: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Mings, Chilwell; Phillips, Rice; Sterling, Mount, Foden; Kane

: Livaković; Vrsaljko, Ćaleta-Car, Vida, Gvardiol; Brozović; Kramarić, Modrić, Kovačić, Perišić; Rebić
