Four Proteas named among Lungi Ngidi’s toughest opponents

Proteas speedster Lungi Ngidi has named four teammates as some of the toughest opponents he’s faced.

The Titans fast bowler also turns out for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well as the Mzansi Super League’s (MSL) Tshwane Spartans.

This has seen him square off against players he’d usually share the dressing room with.

Asked to name his ideal T20 side made up of the toughest players he’s ever faced, Ngidi went for Titans and Proteas teammate Quinton de Kock, who has been on the opposite while donning the colours of the Highveld Lions, the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, and the Cape Town Blitz in the MSL.

Former Proteas skipper and Chennai Super Kings teammate also makes the cut after the two squared off in the MSL.

The other South Africans on the list are AB de Villiers, who captains Ngidi at the Tshwane Spartans and is also teammates with him at the Titans. The two get to face each other when the former Proteas superstar turns out for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Also in is Proteas’ bowling spearhead Kagiso Rabada, who has locked horns with Ngidi while playing for the Lions, the Jozi Stars, and the Delhi Capitals.

The internationals in the XI include India skipper Virat Kohli, who is joined by three compatriots Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni and Jasprit Bumrah.

Completing the list is England all-rounder Ben Stokes, Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan, as well as Australia fast bowler Josh Hazelwood.
