MS Dhoni who put on the number 7 jersey for India on Sunday. MS Dhoni shared a video on Instagram captioning it as “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired.” and announced that he has retired from international cricket with immediate effect. However, he’ll play for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2020. The video had his moments representing Team India on the biggest stage with the iconic song ‘Mai Pal Do Pal Ka Shayar Hu’ from Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Kabhie Kabhie’ playing in the background.

Dinesh Karthik Took To Twitter To Wish MS Dhoni good luck with his ‘second innings in life’

The 35-year-old KKR Captain, Dinesh Karthik, wants BCCI to retire the number 7 jersey in white-ball cricket, considering Dhoni brought so much glory to the country donning the same number.

“This is the last photo taken after our semis at the World Cup.lots of great memories through this journey. I hope the @bcci retire the #7 jersey in white-ball cricket. Good luck with your second innings in life, I’m sure you’ll have a lot of surprises for us there too.” tweeted Dinesh Karthik.

End To A Glorious Career For MS Dhoni

The Cricketing world salutes MS Dhoni for the name he made for himself and his country in the biggest stage of the sport. MS Dhoni played his last game in the colors in the semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Unfortunately, India lost the game to New Zealand and were eliminated from the competition. He had made his debut for Team India back in 2004 and remains the only captain to win all major ICC trophies (50-over World Cup, T20 World Cup, and Champions Trophy).

The 39-year-old announced his retirement from Test cricket in 2014 and had handed Team India’s captaincy to Virat Kohli back in 2017. MS Dhoni will lead his side to the 13th edition of IPL in September in the UAE. He has joined CSK’S training camp in Chennai before traveling to the UAE for IPL 2020.

On 15th August, MS Dhoni shared an Instagram post to officially announce his retirement. He posted a video which had all the memories with the Indian team with background song running “pal do pal ka Shayar”

He wrote, “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired.”

Although we would not see him again Indian jersey, he would be seen playing from in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 edition.
