How To Find Google's DVD Screensaver Easter Egg | Screen Rant

Another Google Easter egg is here and this time it is inspired by the DVD screensaver. Here's how to find the latest hidden treat in Search.

has a new DVD screensaver Easter egg available to access in Search. Google is no stranger to Easter eggs in general, and although some were released years ago and have since disappeared, others have remained available online and are still available today. With the latest DVD-themed one, Google is providing a little movie nostalgia to those that might have since moved to streaming.

As with most things, the internet has changed how people consume TV shows and movies. However, there was a time when it was all DVDs, with the format doing for video what CDs did for music. Often packed with extras, DVDs offered better value, although consumers did have to contend with regional differences. Even today, DVD movies have a different runtime in the UK compared to the U.S.

To enable the Easter egg, the user simply needs to head over to and type in “DVD screensaver.” At which point, the Google logo will move away from its usually top-left position on the Search page and travel across the screen at an angle, before bouncing off the other side and continuing its journey indefinitely. Each time it touches a side of the screen, the logo will change color, just like the original DVD screensaver. For reference, the Easter egg is only available on desktop, so it won't be work on mobile devices.

In spite of the rise of streaming, DVDs and players are still available to buy. However, with many having made the switch from disc to the internet, the DVD screensaver will be more of a memory. For those that don't remember, or have yet to encounter the workings of a DVD player, then just like screensavers of today, once the DVD player enters a hibernate or sleep state, the screensaver activates resulting in the DVD logo bouncing around the screen. This action is exactly what the Google logo is imitating in the latest Easter egg. While the Google version won’t actually result in the same benefits the original DVD screensaver attempted to offer, it is still another Easter egg worth checking out.

As mentioned, Easter eggs are a popular pastime with Google, and there have been quite a few movie-related ones. In the past, Google has embraced Avengers with the ability to perform a Thanos snap on the Search results and the option to turn the page into a sepia-toned version with a The Wizard Of Oz Easter egg. For now, though, users will have to make do with a DVD screensaver, or take part in a quick round of Atari Breakout.

Cyberpunk 2077 Players Want To Be Able To Drive Takemura's Car

While Cyberpunk 2077 is a game founded on personalization, some things are still off-limits - like Goro Takemura's unique convertible Shion.

A number of Cyberpunk 2077 players are falling in line behind the idea of getting to own the Mizutani Shion Targa MZT, a convertible sports car driven by Goro Takemura. More broadly, gamers appear to support the notion of CD Projekt Red adding a car modification system, though that may depend on the developer's progress with bugfixes and next-gen upgrades.

Takemura is a former Arasaka bodyguard who 's story. Without entering into spoilers, the character becomes the most wanted fugitive in Night City, and quickly ends up entangled with V across several missions. In multiple instances, V's actions can decide whether Takemura lives or dies. The character is also one of the most stylish in the game, dressed as his former corpo service used to dictate. Appropriately, the Targa MZT isn't just a convertible model of the Shion - it's appointed with a sleeker look and drops the Mizutani logo from the front.

A Reddit by user optimuschrist85 advocating for MZT ownership and car modification has widespread support and is currently one of the most popular in the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit. The game does have similar vehicles - the MZ2 and the Coyote - but the former is non-convertible, and the Coyote is a nomad variant. There is a chance an MZ1 or MZ2 will spawn in the game world with the MZT's look, but it's impossible to buy the MZT itself.

CDPR could theoretically add car modification in later DLC, such as an expected "Customization Update," but that may focus on characters rather than cars. Leaks have suggested that there will be some form of car DLC, but it's impossible to tell when it might launch even if all the leaks are authentic. CDPR is still trying to 's more glaring bugs, on top of which it has yet to deliver on all its planned PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrades. The remainder should arrive in the second half of 2021, potentially a full year after the consoles launched.

PC players do have the option of installing the third-party mods to get the MZT's look. This, of course, leaves Xbox, PlayStation, and Stadia players in the cold. CDPR has certainly expressed interest in 's content - but even more than most developers, it has to triage what it wants to add versus what will give gamers the polished experience it promised.
