England pacer James Anderson recently achieved the feat of becoming the first pacer to get 600 wickets in Test format. Anderson became the first fast bowler to bag this landmark. He joins the legendary trio of retired spinners; Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan (800), Australia’s Shane Warne (708) and India’s Anil Kumble (619).

Anderson recently lauded Babar Azam, saying he would prefer watching him rather than bowling at him. He also said his perfect play makes fast bowlers feel slow.

“I do love watching Babar Azam. I prefer watching him from up here rather than bowling at him. He makes you feel slow as a bowler – and as a medium-pace bowler like myself, it’s not ideal…” Anderson was quoted as saying by BBC Test Match Special.

Babar has featured in 29 Tests, 74 ODIs and 38 T20Is for where he averages 45.44, 54.18 and 50.72, respectively, which is quite a spectacular record.

England vs Pakistan T20I series ends as a 1-1 draw

The last match in the T20I ended as a win for Pakistan, as England failed to chase the 190 runs on the board. England had won the toss and chose to field. Pakistan’s scored a stellar knock of 86 runs from 52 balls and was named as the Player of the Series.

Babar Azam captained the Pakistan side in the T20I series. The first match in the series was abandoned due to rain, and the second was won by England who chased Pakistan’s 195 total with ease. Pakistan’s tour of England ended with a 1-0 loss in the Test Series after two matches were drawn due to rain and a draw in the T20I series.

England will next play Australia in a white ball series. The T20s will commence from September 4 and will be played in Southampton. The ODIs will be played at Old Trafford in Manchester from September 11 and will be part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League.

Washington Sundar Expect Pitches To Be Slow While Shahbaz Ahmed And Yuzvendra Chahal Takes Advice From Skipper Kohli

Washington Sundar has played in 21 IPL matches where he has picked up 16 wickets and scored 75 runs.

“I think things are going very well and we have been getting pitches where we can get some assistance for spinners. We can expect this in the games as well when the tournament starts.” Sundar said in a video posted on the official Twitter handle of RCB.

Apart from Washington Sundar, RCB spinners Shahbaz Ahmed and Yuzvendra Chahal talked about the importance of communicating with the skipper Virat Kohli who is always there clarifying regarding the line and length to bowl on a particular wicket.

“The wickets are slow here, the ball is not coming on to the bat, I have been discussing this with Virat Bhai as to what line and length I can bowl on these wickets.” Shahbaz Ahmed said.

“Virat Bhai told me to bowl a little quicker as these wickets are really slow,” said Chahal.

RCB has managed to reach the finals of the tournament thrice but still seek to win their maiden trophy. Yuzvendra Chahal played 84 matches in IPL picking up exactly 100 wickets averaging only 23.18, while Bengal spinner Shahbaz Ahmed is a newcomer in RCB squad and is yet to play IPL.

BCCI Confirms That 13 Personnel Including 2 Players Tested Positive

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that 13 personnel including two players tested positive for COVID-19 and are being monitored by the IPL medical team by isolating them.

“13 personnel have tested positive of which 2 are players. All the affected personnel as well as their close contacts have been isolated from other team members. They are being monitored by the IPL Medical Team,” the BCCI had said in an official release.

All players and team personnel are required to undergo a six-day quarantine period after landing in the UAE and everyone needs to be tested for COVID-19 thrice and can start training only if found negative.

It was later learnt that was being hit by the corona-virus as two of their players Deepak Chahar and Rituraj Gaekwad had tested positive along with other staff members.
