CSK are ready to begin their training from today after no fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in the camp. Tested positive players will undergo more tests: Kasi Vishwanathan

CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan had confirmed on 1st of September that the players and staff who tested positive for COVID-19 will undergo more tests after they complete their mandatory quarantine.

“Those who tested positive earlier will be tested again only after 14 days,” ANI quoted Kasi Vishwanathan as saying.

The CSK camp breathed a sigh of relief as the latest test didn’t haven’t shown any positive case, and they can finally begin their training. The coronavirus-free players were made to undergo two additional tests after 13 cases were confirmed last week. Subsequently, it delayed the team’s training camp.

More Worries for CSK after Harbhajan Singh unlikely to play in this IPL

Indian veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh neither attended the Chennai camp nor did he travel with the squad to UAE, citing personal reasons. The inside sources say it is now highly unlikely for the 40-year-old to feature in this IPL and the CSK management are planning on a play without him.

Earlier, Suresh Raina, who had travelled with the squad to UAE had later decided to skip the IPL and returned home citing ‘personal reasons’, which was later found out to be a gruesome attack on his relatives which which took away life of his uncle and cousin died. Also, Raina stated there is still a slight chance that he could get back with the squad to play in the IPL.

The IPL 2020 will be played between September 19 and November 10. The matches will be played in , Abu Dhabi and Sharjah respectively.
