1. Quinton de Kock (wk):
Quinton de Kock played a match-winning knock of unbeaten 78 runs off 44 balls against KKR. Although he dropped a crucial catch of Pat Cummin, his outstanding knock will overshadow it. The franchise will want him to deliver a similar performance against KXIP to maintain their winning streak.
2. Rohit Sharma (c):
Rohit Sharma is the core of Mumbai Indians. In the last eight matches, he has amassed 251 runs, including two half-centuries. He is undoubtedly going to play a pivotal role to guide his team to victory to maintain their spot in the points table.
3. Suryakumar Yadav:
The Mumbaikar has the ability to build innings; therefore, he has been given the no.3 position in the playing XI. After the early fall of the openers, he has stitched up partnerships to guide his team to victory. He has amassed 243 runs in eight matches at a strike rate of 151.87. Mumbai Indians will want him to remain consistent.
4. Ishan Kishan:
Ishan Kishan starred for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The youngster played a gritty knock of 99 runs to take MI close to the win. Although he is not a power hitter, he struck nine sixes. After that knock, however, he has lost his wicket early. But he has shown that his will and hunger to win can do wonders. Mumbai Indians will want him to bounce back stronger.
5. Hardik Pandya:
Hardik Pandya is being used only as a batsman by the Mumbai Indians captain. The fast bowling allrounder had come after recovering from the injury. So, MI is not taking the risk to rush him for bowling. So, far, with the bat, he has snared 156 runs in eight matches at the strike rate of 159.18.
6. Kieron Pollard:
Kieron Pollard is one of the biggest pillars of Mumbai Indians. When he is on the song, it becomes hard to stop him if he survives till death overs. Pollard has scored 174 runs in eight matches at the terrific strike rate of 189.13 while he has also snared two wickets.
7. Krunal Pandya:
The spin bowling allrounder Krunal Pandya has contributed significantly with both bat and ball in all the matches. Against SRH, he scored 20 runs off just four balls, striking two boundaries and two sixes, while also with the ball, he picked one wicket. He is an integral part of the team and will be expected to produce similar spells for Mumbai Indians in the coming matches.
8. Rahul Chahar:
Rahul Chahar is the only in and out spinner that is playing for Mumbai Indians this season. He has given valuable contribution picking wickets of Virat Kohli, Ambati Rayudu and another crucial batsman to give a breakthrough to the team. Overall, he has picked up nine wickets in eight matches.
9. Trent Boult:
Playing maiden season for Mumbai Indians, Trent Boult has become a crucial part of the team. With the new ball, he has produced magical spells to give a good start to the team. He has notched up 12 wickets in eight matches at the economy rate of 8.01.
10. James Pattinson:
James Pattinson is the replacement of Lasith Malinga in the Mumbai Indians squad. Having a huge responsibility to fill up the space of Malinga, Pattinson has performed exceptionally in seven matches.
