Just In: KZN Transport MEC Bheki Ntuli dies after ‘short illness’
The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal confirmed the untimely passing of PEC member and MEC for Transport Bheki Ntuli late on Saturday.
MEC for Transport Bheki Ntuli has died, the African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal confirmed late on Saturday night 16 January 2021. Social media users have since paid tribute to the late MEC.
TRANSPORT MEC BHEKI NTULI PASSES AWAY
The ANC in KZN took to Twitter on Saturday night before 22:00 saying the following;
“The African National Congress KwaZulu-Natal would like to confirm the untimely passing of its Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) Member, Comrade Bhekuyise Ntuli who passed on after a short illness,” it said.
While the party did not confirm whether Bheki Ntuli passed on due to COVID-19 in its statement, it did say further details still had to be announced.
“Comrade Ntuli was currently serving as MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison. The ANC in the province will release an official statement once the Office of the Premier has made an official announcement,” it added.
The ANC has called on everybody to give the family space to mourn their untimely loss peacefully until further details are announced.
Democratic Alliance (DA) member Mbali Ntuli took to Twitter saying that she was truly saddened by the news and made reference to COVID-19.
“This is unbelievable! RIP MEC Bheki Ntuli. I saw you just a little while ago. I am truly saddened by this. Condolences to oMphemba. Covid has truly wrecked devastation on us all.”
