Hunt was snapped up by Gqeberha-based Chippa United and the four-time PSL title winner will return to the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 16 October, five months after parting ways with the Glamour Boys.

Stuart Baxter, who took over from Hunt for second spell in charge at Naturena, was asked if he had any sympathy for Hunt.

“Gavin, Stuart Baxter, Ernst Middendorp – every coach, Pitso Mosimane, we know that everyday were are under pressure. We know that, but we get on with the job,” Baxter said during an online press conference.

“We have to make a friend of that. I’ve got sympathy for every coach because every coach that is relieved of his duties has got more to offer – not every coach is working at a Manchester City or a virtual perfect world. Every job has the restrictions or the unlucky injuries or the pandemic knocking the supporters out of the stadium – every job has that. My feelings are, strongly, that any coach can be relieved of his duties and not have done anything wrong.”
