He had last played an ODI in 2015 and is England’s highest wicket-taker in both Tests and ODIs. He wants to carry on at least until next winter’s Ashes. Kumar Sangakkara Says James Anderson’s Feat Is A Tremendous Achievement

MCC president Kumar Sangakkara, in an email to club members which was published Saturday, hailed James Anderson’s feat as an exceptional achievement.

“Jimmy is a fast bowler of immense skill and determination, the 42-year-old Sangakkara, a former Sri Lanka captain mentioned.

“His achievement is tremendous, not just for the fact that it is 600 wickets, but also for what that entails in terms of effort, commitment and reinvention.”

Three spinners are ahead of James Anderson in the all-time list of highest Test wicket-takers. They are Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan who has 800, Australia’s Shane Warne who has 708 and India’s Anil Kumble who has 619. They have all retired from international cricket.

“He has set a record for current and future pace bowlers to chase, but it may just be one record that will be Jimmy’s and Jimmy’s alone,” said Sangakkara, a former wicketkeeper-batsman who appeared in 134 Tests and was Sri Lanka’s captain when they lost the 2011 World Cup final to India in Mumbai.

“It was my great privilege to play against him and I now share with you the enjoyment of watching him from beyond the boundary rope for as long as he may continue.

Among those continuing is his new ball colleague teammate Stuart Broad who has 514 Test wickets. Both retired pacers Glenn McGrath who has 563 wickets and West Indies Courtney Walsh has 519 wickets are pacers with more than 500 Test wickets in their bag.

Kumar Sangakkara’s Term Extended By One Year

Kumar Sangakkara is the first president from abroad in the 233-year-old history of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), the owners of London’s . By tradition, MCC presidents serve for just one year.

“I would like to thank you (the MCC membership) for your support in granting an extension to my term as president,” Sangakkara wrote in acknowledgement.

CPL 2020: St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Jamaica Tallawahs – Dream11 Prediction, Playing XI and Live Streaming details

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SKP) will be locking horns against Jamaica Tallawahs (JT) in the 18th match of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020 at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain on Saturday (August 29).

Both teams haven’t quite really lived up to expectations despite having some big names in their armoury. The Patriots languish at the bottom of the points table with just one win in five matches. While the Tallawahs, with two victories and three defeats, is placed just above the SKP.

Neither of the franchises can afford any more lacklustre outings as the tournament proceeds to the business end.

SKP vs JT, Probable XI:

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

Barring Evin Lewis, none of the batsmen has been putting up a consistent performance. Lewis has scored 161 runs in five matches. Their next best batsman is Ben Dunk, who rose to the occasion a couple of times.

The Patriots lost their last match against St Lucia Zouks (SLZ) by six-wicket.

SKP skipper Rayad Emrit has done a decent job with the ball.

Probable XI: Chris Lynn, Evin Lewis, Denesh Ramdin(wk), Ben Dunk, Jahmar Hamilton, Nick Kelly, Rayad Emrit (c), Alzarri Joseph, Imran Khan, Jon-Russ Jaggesar and Ish Sodhi

Jamaica Tallawahs

JT lost their last match against Barbados Tridents (BT) after they failed to chase 148 runs in 20 overs. Glenn Phillips and Chadwick Walton need to give a proper foundation for the rest of the batting-order to follow.

With wickets getting slower as tournament proceeds, the spin duo of Mujeeb ur Rahman and Sandeep Lamichchane will play a crucial role for the Tallawahs.

Probable XI: Chadwick Walton, Glenn Phillips (wk), Rovman Powell (c), Andre Russell, Asif Ali, Jermaine Blackwood, Carlos Brathwaite, Mujeeb ur Rehman, Sandeep Lamichhane, Fidel Edwards and Veerasammy Permaul

Here are the fantasy Dream11 suggestions:
