KUWTK: Khloe & Tristan Appear Indecisive Over Surrogacy Option

Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson are sharing their reluctance with using surrogacy to conceive on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

The final season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians is following Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson's journey to welcome a second child together. With the couple's strongest option being surrogacy, there appears to be some reluctance after they were asked a series of "uncomfortable" questions. Khloe shared how "freaked out" she is over the possibility of the surrogacy process not working out.

Fans were surprised when Khloe and Tristan opened up about their plans to expand their family. The two just announced their reconciliation last year after more than a year apart. It was during Khloe's first pregnancy when she learned about the NBA player's first cheating scandal. Shortly after welcoming their daughter True Thompson, the Boston Celtics player was caught kissing Kylie Jenner's former BFF Jordyn Woods in his second scandal. But after taking some time to just co-parent their daughter, Tristan was able to get back into Khloe's good graces over the course of the quarantine. Now with them back together and fueling engagement rumors, the family appears ready to make True a big sister.

During the latest episode of KUWTK, the Good American founder shared the evaluation process she and Tristan had to do ahead of hiring a surrogate to carry their baby. "I have been instructed to go the surrogacy route," Khloe told the therapist, as captured by E! News. "And Tristan, luckily, was onboard and felt comfortable. I think more so because he saw my sister go through it." But after getting asked a series of "uncomfortable" questions, the couple became worried over the possible challenges. "What are your beliefs about fetal reduction or termination of pregnancy due to multiple pregnancies," the therapist asked. "Say the embryo split and the surrogate was carrying twins suddenly."

After saying they were fine if this were to occur, the therapist reminded them of all of the decision-makers in a surrogacy pregnancy. "What if your surrogate wasn't onboard with that?" Khloe shared her surprise with the question. "But, don't they have to kind of go with what our wishes are?" she asked in response. "So, she could terminate the pregnancy with any unplanned outcome," the therapist said while reminding the couple that it's still the surrogate's body. During her confessional, Khloe expressed how "freaked out" she is by the process now that she's been reminded of the possible setbacks. "I think, as the questions go by…I know it's her body my baby, but I really did not put two-and-two together that that means she has the control whether she would want to terminate the twin," Khloe said.

While talking to her mother Kris Jenner, Khloe shared her worries about surrogacy and compared it to her sister who welcomed two children via a surrogate. "It's just scary like hearing a lot of those things," Khloe said. "Kim just made this seem so seamless, and maybe for her it was. I think she's way less micro-mangey than I am." After talking it over with Tristan, Khloe still seemed reluctant but wants to take time before making a final decision. "I do think this is the right choice for us, but I'm not gonna be rushed into it. I'm not gonna force it," she said. She might be keeping a positive mindset while working out the kinks with her boyfriend. He's currently involved in yet another cheating scandal that could put a pause on things.

How to Purchase (& Activate) a Rift in Fortnite (Week 9 Challenge)

During Season 6 of Fortnite, Rifts can be purchased from some of the NPCs to give players a personal jump pad. Purchasing one is a Week 9 challenge.

Rifts are an important part of the Fortnite lore as portals that connect various realities and as personal jump pads players can use to gain mobility during matches. One Season 6 tasks players with buying and activating their very own Rift. Players can get Rifts in exchange for a sizeable sum of Gold Bars from some of the NPCs found on the outskirts of the island. Only a few NPCs stock these items, however, so players will need to know who to track down in advance.

Not every NPC will spawn every match, and the NPCs who do spawn may not always have Rifts in stock, which can make completing this challenge a bit more tedious than necessary. There is, however, at least one NPC who will always spawn and will always have Rifts to sell, so players who are struggling can choose to seek him out instead. Here's how to purchase, activate, and use a Rift from an NPC in Fortnite Season 6 to complete this Week 9 challenge.

Players can purchase a Rift from six different NPCs across the map in Fortnite Season 6. These characters include:

  • Bunker Jonesy: Near the Lighthouse, in the easternmost houses at Craggy Cliffs, east of Misty Meadows, or in a cabin near Catty Corner.
  • Castaway Jonesy: On a small island off the northeastern coast of the map.
  • Rebirth Raven: In a house northwest of Sweaty Sands.
  • Willow: Anywhere throughout Weeping Woods.
  • Raz: In a building at Colossal Crops.
  • Cabbie: In the parking lot at the south end of Lazy Lake.

Of these NPCs, players are likely to have the best chance of purchasing a Rift by going to Cabbie, a version of Jonesy who is almost always guaranteed to spawn every match and guaranteed to have a Rift to sell. As players get closer to him, as with any other NPC, they should see a speech bubble appear on their minimap. This will make it easier to track NPCs as they wander around their spawn location.

To purchase a Rift, players will need to save 245 Gold Bars. As soon as players purchase the Rift, it will activate, launching them into the air for a second drop elsewhere on the map. Unfortunately, there is no way to take the Rift and activate it later, for example, in the Storm to escape. It must be activated as soon as it has been purchased.

Players will earn 24,000 XP toward their Season 6 Battle Pass for completing this Week 9 Fortnite challenge. Because it does not take very long, they can also glide to another location, like Colossal Crops, to complete another one of the Epic Quests.
