Liverpool are plotting a summer move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus, according to reports.
The 23-year-old came through the ranks with 2. Bundesliga outfit 1860 Munich. Neuhaus impressed for them in 2016/17, which tempted Gladbach to sign him that summer. He signed a long-term contract with the Bundesliga side.
After spending a season on loan with Fortuna Dusseldorf, Neuhaus broke into his parent club’s first team in the 2018/19 campaign.
The midfielder has been a key player for the German outfit over the past three years. He has 14 goals and 18 assists for them from 102 appearances in all competitions.
Neuhaus has six goals and six assists in all competitions this season. He played the full 90 minutes as Monchengladbach lost 2-0 to Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The playmaker also made his debut for Germany in October 2020. He scored in his first game against Turkey and he has played twice more since then.
Sport Bild reporter Christian Falk has reported that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Neuhaus as Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of him.
The Bundesliga star could be set to replace Georginio Wijnaldum, who is out-of-contract this summer.
