A 45-year-old Waterford West man has been charged with murder over the alleged stabbing death of a 32-year-old outside a Logan unit complex overnight.

The 32-year old man from Beachmere died in the Princess Alexandra Hospital this morning hospital after he was stabbed in the stomach.

Police arrested his alleged attacker in one of the other units close to where the victim was found. He was charged and is set to appear in court today.

It will be alleged a 45-year-old man became involved in an argument with a 32-year-old man outside the unit block on Bourke Street in Waterford West about 8.15pm yesterday.

The older man is accused of stabbing the younger man in the abdomen with a knife.

Police found the victim inside one of the units, before paramedics rushed him to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

The older man was charged with acts intended to maim but that charge has been upgraded.
