Our Fall Collection Is Here, and We're *Not* Okay Over These Under-$260 Pieces

Our Fall Collection Is Here, and We're *Not* Okay Over These Under-$260 Pieces

As much as we love a good online shopping spree, the reality is that it's impossible to know how something will look IRL. Will it fit the way I want it to? Is the color actually what's shown on the model? What does the fabric feel like? These are just some of the concerns that start to swirl in our heads when we're hovering over the order button. Since we know we're not the only ones who prefers to sift through reviews and customer photos before making a purchase, we gathered WWW editors and staffers for our own version of a try-on haul: Who What Wear Collection edition.

Since our namesake line was dreamed up by our editors and staffers, we thought it only fitting to try on the newest pieces from our latest drop ourselves and give you our first-person reviews. The latest drop features plenty of stunning knits, eye-catching dresses, and a few trendy basics that we figured you might be on the hunt for ahead of fall because we couldn't wait to get our hands on them ourselves. A handful of editors and multiple racks of samples later, the results are in, and—spoiler—there were plenty of winners.

Ahead, see the evidence of our team's collective try-on haul, including how we're styling the new pieces, our notes on the fit and standout details, and, of course, how you can shop it all.

"I have a thing for dresses, and this one is seriously so good. It's lightweight enough that I can wear it in these hot in-between months with sandals and no jacket, but it will be perfect with an oversize blazer and boots come cooler days. And can we give it up for this cool wood-grain pattern?" — Anneliese Dominguez, editor, branded content

"Try and find a cuter dress for fall. I'll wait. Honestly, it just doesn't get better than this. The deep green is perfect, the cut is super flattering, and it feels especially on-trend when styled with cowboy boots. But the best part is I know it'll look equally as cool when paired with other shoes, too. Lug-sole loafers, anyone?" — Caitie Schlisserman, beauty director, branded content

There are cardigans that go well with an outfit, and then there are cardigans that are the outfit. Our Charlotte Cardigan is definitely the latter. It falls at the perfect cropped hem that was made for wearing with high-waisted bottoms, but the strongest element has got to be the way it creates an eye-catching cutout when married to the Natalie Tank.

While this knit tank looks exceptional with the above cardigan, our market editor Indya Brown has us thinking that the knit tank is a stunning staple all on its own. Not all tanks are made equal, and we need to point your attention to the exaggerated racer neckline on this one, which makes it feel more forward than the average. Style it with a slip skirt and sandals now and then layer it over an oxford shirt with leather trousers once the temperatures plummet.

"My fall vibe? If Cher Horowitz time-traveled into 2021. My favorite way to wear this checkered skirt-and-shacket duo is wearing them together as a set for obvious reasons, but I already know that the jacket, in particular, will become one of my most-worn pieces this fall. It's the perfect thing to throw on with jeans, leggings, skirts, or really anything." — Anna LaPlaca, editor

"The ruched detailing on this dress is so flattering. I love the midi length because it's easy to pair with tall boots or heels. I'm still such a huge fan of chocolate brown for fall, so this dress is perfect." — Aniyah Morinia, associate editor, branded content

"I don't know about you, but every new season, there's always that special piece that becomes a regular fixture in my wardrobe. I end up wearing it multiple times a week because it basically works with everything I own. Skirts? Cute. Jeans? Absolutely. Trousers? Duh. The only difference this year is that it happens to be two pieces: this adorable little knit top and cardi. I adore them together, but they play well with others, too. Like, I'd for sure wear the knit top with a blazer and jeans and the cardi with a ribbed tank and a skirt. Honestly, it's the color for me." — Schlisserman

"I'm all for cozy outfits always, but this set meets that category all while incorporating a fresh color that's popping in the fashion scene. I'm wearing the set together, but you can also mix and match, so the options are endless." — Yusra Siddiqui, assistant market editor

"I basically live in slouchy trousers, and this pair is just perfect. The fit is incredible with a high-waisted silhouette and slightly wide-leg cut that looks relaxed but still tailored and polished. Here, I'm wearing them with a ribbed bodysuit, but you'll also catch me wearing them with the matching vest and blazer very soon." — Kristen Nichols, senior editor

"It's finally sweater-vest season, and I couldn't be more excited. This along with the green knit set have to be my favorites of the collection. It's hard finding vests that are equally as cute as they are non-itchy, and this one passes the test for sure." — Siddiqui

If there's one thing you need to add to your closet right now, it's this sweater-vest. Yusra's layering idea above is genius, but we'd also like to point out how good it looks solo on our editorial director, Lauren Eggertsen. It's a little boxy, a little cropped, and so easy to wear.

"I already know this set is going to be on repeat this season! I wore this with a pair of jeans and some booties, but I can't wait to style it with a cute skirt and a pair of loafers. The thick ribbed material will keep me feeling chic and warm on chilly nights." — Morinia

"I live in L.A. and rarely have a need to wear a chunky-knit sweater. But damn, I'll find a reason to bust this number out, even if it means getting stares from fellow Angelenos on the street. From the cut to the ridiculously soft material, this is a sweater that'll be relevant for years to come." — Schlisserman

Jennifer Hudson's Secret to Flawless Red Carpet Skin Is Unexpectedly Affordable

The stars were out in full force at last night's highly anticipated Met Gala. The event, which took place on the second Monday of September instead of its usual first Monday in May, was held in honor of the Met Museum's latest exhibit with the Costume Institute, titled In America: A Lexicon of Fashion. Attendees, hailing from Hollywood to Silicon Valley to even Washington, D.C. came dressed to the nines, each in a unique interpretation of American independence. But no one quite captured the ethereal glow of the evening like Jennifer Hudson.

The actress and singer most recently starred in Respect, the Aretha Franklin biopic which premiered this summer. Notably, Franklin is frequently seen wearing red on the screen, so Hudson's look—a custom AZ Factory dress paired with a perfect red lip by makeup artist Ernesto Casillas—was a subtle homage to the late music icon.

We caught up with Casillas after the festivities to discuss Hudson's glam, especially her incredible skin. Given the high-visibility nature of the event (between the live-streamed entrances and paparazzi, images are already everywhere), highlighting Hudson's rich completion was a top priority. "Red carpet skin prep is important for any look and any carpet, but especially was important for me tonight," shared Callas. "I wanted to make sure I implemented a skincare regimen that would make her skin radiant on the carpet, and perfect for makeup application," he explains.

Below you'll find the breakdown of products he used ranging from $30 to $160, how they work, and ways to incorporate them into your routine at home.

"Before we began, I gave Jen QMS’s Deep Gentle Cleanser and Hydrating Boost to cleanse, tone, and balance her skin. After, I applied another collagen on top, using the QMS Collagen Serum in Oil for extra hydration."—Casillas

"First I applied the Day Collagen Serum over her entire face—even over the eye because it absorbs so quickly!"

"After applying collagen serums, I used the Advanced Collagen Eye Lift to the under-eye area for 15–20 mins to lift her eyes. I also used their Power Firm Mask, which is a great way to prep skin for makeup."

"On top of all the collagen serums I put on, I used the QMS ACE Moisturizer, and then we were ready for makeup!"

"Throughout applying the makeup and after I finished I went in with the QMS Hydrating Boost and gave Jennifer a final spritz before she hit the carpet."

Hudson's flawless skin was enhanced by a radiant lip in the cult-favorite Red Carpet shade by Bobbi Brown.

Subtly lined with the brand's Sangria lip liner pencil.
