Rob Liefeld Blames Marvel For Lack Of ‘Deadpool 3’

Comic book artist Rob Liefeld blames Marvel over the fact that Deadpool 3 hasn’t happened yet.

When the first Deadpool film was released, it kind of blew everyone away with how good it was. The film was very well received by fans and critics, earning well over $780M worldwide and was the most successful X-Men related film to date. The second film, Deadpool 2, went on to be just as successful but was also released in the middle of the Disney acquisition of Fox, leaving many fans to wonder what was in store for the future of the franchise.

Since the acquisition both Disney and Ryan Reynolds have remained enthusiastic about the future of Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, Marvel Studios has shown no indication as to when or if they will include the character in the shared movie universe as the MCU’s lineup seems pretty full at the moment. Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld, however, has laid the blame fully on Marvel for why the third installment of the film series hasn’t happened yet.

While speaking to Comicbook.com, Rob Liefeld spoke about his own frustrations with Marvel over the lack of Deadpool in the movie world:

“I blame Marvel…blame Marvel that that hasn’t happened yet. They are the reason it isn’t happening. Whatever conundrum or it didn’t fit into your master plan, just commission it. Okay, commission it. You know if Frank Frazetta was still around, you would say, ‘Frank paint for me.'”

What do you all make of Rob Liefeld’s words? Are you upset that Marvel Studios hasn’t already included Deadpool 3 in their film lineup? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

X-Men: ‘The New Mutants’ Will Still Be Released In Theaters

Despite a recent scare over a digital preorder for the film, a theatrical release is still being planned for the upcoming X-Men film, The New Mutants.

The New Mutants is a film that will probably live in film infamy simply over how many times it has been delayed. The X-Men film was originally set to be released in April of 2018. The film was delayed by 20th Century Fox in order for the film to undergo reshoots that never happened. After the Disney acquisition of Fox, the film was set to be released in the spring of 2020. That release date was also delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic along with several other Disney films.

This has led some to believe that the film would possibly be released digitally and more than likely on Disney+. These beliefs were seemingly confirmed when the film became available for digital preorder on Amazon. As it had turned out, this was a glitch in the system as Amazon’s automated system which listed it for a preorder based on the film’s original release date. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, however, Disney still plans on giving the film a theatrical release. When this will happen, however, is currently unknown.

What do you all make of this news? Are you glad to hear that The New Mutants will get a theatrical release? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
