Sachin Tendulkar the batting maestro played from 1989 to 2013 for a career stretching 24 years and he has many records to his credit like maximum overall runs in both Tests and ODIs. But except Virat Kohli, everyone else has retired. Among the ones playing David Warner has 43, Chris Gayle has 42, Ross Taylor 40, Rohit Sharma 39. Sachin Tendulkar’s Record Can Be Broken Only By Virat Kohli: Irfan Pathan

Former Irfan Pathan believes inability, fitness and temperament of the Delhi-batsman and has backed him to break the coveted record. Irfan Pathan said that the 31-year-old who is the top-ranked ODI batsman since 2017 must try to reach 100 international centuries before he retires.

Irfan Pathan also added that he wants the record of 100 hundreds to be broken only by an Indian.

“I am sure 100 hundreds, he might not be talking about it but you know if anyone could achieve that feat, after Sachin Tendulkar he is the one. You know he has achieved so much with such little time and I hope if anyone breaks the records of 100 hundreds because I was part of Sachin’s journey when he scored that last hundred as well.”

Sachin Tendulkar has 51 Test and 49 ODI hundreds whereas Sachin Tendulkar has 27 Test and 43 ODI hundreds.

“But I always wish if anyone breaks the record he has to be an Indian and Virat has the ability and fitness, which is the most important thing to be able to achieve that feat. I think he is 30 short of that 100 hundreds, I think he will be able to achieve it before he retires and I hope so and that’s the target he will have in his mind,” Irfan Pathan said on Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected’.

Irfan Pathan is an Indian cricketer who represented India in all three formats and was a vital member of 2007 ICC World T20 where he was the Man Of Match. He also is the only bowler to take a Test hat-trick in first over of the match. He has 100 wickets in 29 tests and 173 wickets in 120 ODIs.
