Sylvester Stallone’s La Quinta Villa Lands on the Market for $3.35M

Sylvester Stallone is looking to knock out a sale of his desert getaway. The actor has placed his La Quinta, CA, home on the market for $3.35 million.

However, the transaction might be somewhat of a gut punch to his wallet. Stallone, who is 73, purchased the home in 2010 for $4.5 million. So even at full ask, he stands to lose on the investment.

The nearly 4,900-square-foot home will definitely be a winner for the buyer lucky enough to snag it. Built in 2008, the villa opens with heavy wood double doors onto a vaulted ceiling entryway.

The layout includes four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, and a double-height living room with a stone fireplace. The formal dining room opens out to a terrace.

The floor plan also includes a wine room and a powder room.

The spacious kitchen has a large wood and stone island. Upstairs, a master suite includes a disappearing flatscreen TV, perfect for catching your favorite Stallone flick.

In addition, the spacious place has a fireplace as well as a private terrace. The master bathroom offers dual vanities and a tub.

Architectural details include arched entryways and beamed ceilings. While the home has been emptied of personal items, a couple of reminders are still in place, including a cool “Rambo” movie poster and a painting possibly created by the owner.

Outside are multiple terraces, a pool, an outdoor kitchen and dining area, and a built-in fire pit.

The relaxing retreat backs up to a burbling creek. Golf fans will appreciate that it is located inside the exclusive Madison Club.

The club’s privacy and excellent links have proved a draw for celebs. Randy Gerber and Cindy Crawford purchased a place at the club last year.

“The half-acre property’s outdoor space includes lush plant life, including palms, a pool, spa, and terraces,” says the listing agent, Josh Reef with Douglas Elliman.

He notes that its lot is the largest of all of the villas on the property.

Praising the villa for its “privacy, peace of mind, and safety,” he describes the offering as a once-in-a-lifetime chance at a property “once owned by a legend, for a legendary price.”

“The architecture is timeless, just like the current homeowner,” he says.

Stallone is best known for his iconic role in “Rocky,” made in 1976, which he wrote himself. The film spawned multiple sequels, as well as the spin-off “Creed.” The A-lister also wrote or co-wrote and starred in both the “Rambo” and “The Expendables” franchises.

Second county court reveals plans to get ready for 29th June evictions re-start

Announcement from Edmonton follows similar announcement by Barnet earlier this week, both of which point to at least a partial re-opening of possession hearings system.

Edmonton County Court in North London is the latest to reveal that it’s getting ready to begin processing possession hearings again on 29th June.

As we reported the first was Barnet. Both say that unless told otherwise by the judiciary, they expect to recommence hearings, albeit via telephone or video platforms including Microsoft teams.

Courts tend to pre-empt government policy; it was clear that an evictions ban was in the pipeline back in March when Blackpool County Court began warning solicitors of an imminent close-down of possession hearings well before the government announced it evictions ban.

The announcement by Edmonton, and the similar nature of the announcement sent out to solicitors and members of the public, shows that the court system is limbering up for the evictions ban to be at least partially lifted, and that a common approach is being taken.

Least worst

Like Barnet, Edmonton has written to the solicitors who use its court to warn that hearings are likely to be more difficult to complete remotely and that it is the ‘least worst way of dealing with these possession claims in present circumstances’.

“We well understand that these cases have previously involved large numbers of mainly unrepresented defendants with limited means attending our court and, in some cases, meeting and reaching agreements with representatives of claimants in the court building,” the update says.

“That cannot be accommodated during the current crisis. The parties will therefore be expected to engage with one another well before the hearing date to a much greater degree than previously.”
