The One Summer 2020 Trend That Is Perfect for Working From Home

It looks so put-together.

The One Summer 2020 Trend That Is Perfect for Working From Home

When writing our S/S 20 trend report, I never could have anticipated the way life was about to change. Many of the clothes arriving in stores this month were designed to be worn to weddings, beer gardens, and summer events. However, the S/S collections did have an overarching practical theme that makes many of the items that were tipped to spike still relevant to our lives at home. In the spring collections, we saw a desire for more classic, timeless pieces, largely driven by sustainability having a significant impact on how trends are now shaped.

One of the items that fashion buyers kept mentioning to me as a key product for the season was a blue Oxford button-down shirt by The Row. The one item that I keep wearing for my video work calls and keep seeing other people wearing too is an oversize Oxford shirt. The loose fit makes them feel comfortable and relaxed, plus they go with midi skirts, jeans, or trousers, making them an easy piece to style.

The most popular outfit I've seen people wearing is an oversize white shirt tucked into straight-leg jeans, but I've also seen blue shirts worn with midi skirts or Oxfords layered underneath knits. Keep scrolling for some styling inspiration if you already have a shirt at home, and in case you're looking to purchase one, scroll further for our edit.

Every Single Dress I Love This Summer Comes in This One Color

It really does look good on everyone.

Every Single Dress I Love This Summer Comes in This One Color

Green isn't the most popular color out there, but make a dress in the hue, and from what I've seen, it's far likelier to fly off the shelves. Many of the most popular midi dresses over the past few years have all been green (often midi, floral and in a grassy shade), and this year, it's exactly the same story. From acidic neon shades to brighter apple greens, almost every dress I have my eye on this year comes in this shade.

Many of this year's cult dresses on the high street all come in green. There's COS's zesty green sleeveless dress, and & Other Stories has delivered numerous beautiful green dresses. If a vibrant green dress is a little too much color for you, you can find softer options in floral prints that have a green base—Faithfull the Brand, ASOS, and Rixo have lots of options.

For inspiration on how to style green dresses this summer, keep scrolling for some outfits I've saved this month—and then see my edit of green dresses below.

Next, 3 very specific colors trending at H&M, Madewell, and Mango right now.
