Premier League side Tottenham want to re-sign Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen from Inter Milan this summer, according to reports.
. He signed a four-and-a-half year deal with Inter Milan.
However, Eriksen’s time in Serie A so far has not been a huge success. The 28-year-old managed just eight starts in the Italian top flight, scoring only one league goal.
In March, that Eriksen had ‘started to have doubts about whether he took the right decision and should have gone to Real Madrid’ and more recent reports have indicated that Inter are willing to let him go after only half a campaign.
Eriksen made no secret of his desire to leave Tottenham, and spent much of the first part of the season on the periphery with his future in doubt.
However, transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Spurs have already attempted to bring him back to north London but also ruled out the possibility of Inter letting him go.
Romano told the podcast: “Two weeks ago, one of my sources told me Tottenham were asking to take Christian Eriksen back, but immediately after, like two hours after, I spoke with Inter and they told me there is no chance to see Christian Eriksen back at Tottenham. So, this isn’t a possibility.”
And the Dane’s latest comments while on international duty seem to have somewhat quashed any further speculation, with Eriksen keen to start afresh at Inter.
“I had a few days off, but now I’m with the national team and I still haven’t had any information on what the club will do when I return,” told DR Sporten (via ).
“I certainly hope to return and that everyone starts from scratch, then we’ll have to see what the coach really thinks.”
