West Indies are set to lock horns with Pakistan in the second game of the ongoing four-match T20I series. The contest will take place at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Saturday (July 31).
The opening match held at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, in Barbados, got called off due to rain. The game was first reduced to nine overs per side, in which the hosts managed to score 85 runs for the loss of five wickets. Skipper Kieron Pollard was their highest scorer with unbeaten 22 runs off 9 balls. However, the visitors couldn’t come to bat because of the rain and the match was abandoned.
The home team struggled in the batting department and would surely try to rectify the errors when they walk in to play the second game. On the other hand, the touring party will be hoping to replicate the similar bowling display and make the most of the conditions.
The pitch in Guyana doesn’t offer much help to batters, especially in the shortest format. The average score in T20Is here is under 140 in seven matches. A similar trend is expected to be continued in the upcoming fixture.
Although the batting unit of Windies struggled in the series opener but it isn’t easy to know the real potential of batters in a nine-over game. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that West Indies would change their playing XI.
WI XI: Kieron Pollard (c), Lendl Simmons, Evin Lewis, Chris Gayle, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Andre Russell, Jason Holder, Dwayne Bravo, Hayden Walsh, Akeal Hosein
Pakistan’s batting wasn’t tested, and bowling did impress on all corners. So, Babar Azam might also field the same XI that featured in the opening match.
PAK XI: Babar Azam (c), Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Mohammad Hafeez, Fakhar Zaman, Azam Khan, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Shaheen Afridi, Usman Qadir

An investigation by U.S. Central Command has determined that an Aug. 29 drone strike in Kabul killed an innocent aid worker and nine members of his family, not a member of the ISIS-K terrorist group, a top general announced Friday. The command now assesses that the man targeted was not affiliated with ISIS-K, the Afghanistan branch of ISIS, or “a direct threat to U.S. forces,” Gen. Frank McKenzie, head of U.S. Central Command, told reporters Friday. “Our investigation now concludes that the strike was a tragic mistake.” The news comes as U.S. leaders are already facing criticism over the Biden administration’s Afghanistan withdrawal and the fact that the effort left hundreds of Americans and thousands of at-risk Afghans in the country at the end of August. More than 120,000...

From lies about election fraud to bogus anti-vaccine claims, a torrent of misinformation has been flowing through our society. And it is dangerous. Despite a pandemic, many people have refused to wear masks. It runs contrary to the best available public-health advice. Yet many people have heard some voices say masks aren’t necessary. These people may be misinformed or floating some hidden agenda. But the result is the same. People have gotten COVID-19 who might have avoided it with masks. And then there are people who have challenged the value of vaccines. In January, some of them disrupted a mass-vaccination site in Los Angeles, Calif. Their actions blocked life-saving shots for hundreds of people. “COVID has opened everyone’s eyes to the dangers of health misinformation,”...
There are two meetings to look at on Saturday night, with Albion Park and Menangle getting my focus. Below are the best bets for the respective programs. Albion Park Best bet: Race 4, Number 1, Turn It Up This just looks like a straightforward good thing to my eye. This horse has been kept on ice, having not raced since the Blacks A Fake at Group 1 level when running last. The depth here is clearly not as strong. He looks like the lone horse with early speed. This horse should find the front and prove much too good. Next best: Race 9, Number 1, Doug This horse is heart-in-your-mouth stuff at the start given it’s a standing start, but if he gets away cleanly, he should find the front, have control on speed...
The goal for most businesses is to grow, so the concept of bad growth may seem counterintuitive to a lot of business owners. However, if that growth is not sustainable in the long-term it can become little more than a drain on your resources. The focus, therefore, should not simply be on growing the business, but on sustainably scaling it. This means having strategies and systems in place to manage this growth and prevent stagnation due to poor planning. Without this, you may quickly find yourself in a position where the growing demand from customers begins to exceed what your business can actually handle, which can lead to losing custom, compromising on the quality of your service, or overspending on new hires, all in an effort to keep up. Knowing...

West Ham United duo Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek “would walk into the Manchester United team” according to Trevor Sinclair. The Hammers host Man Utd on Sunday in what will be the toughest Premier League test for each side so far this season. West Ham will be without striker Michail Antonio following his red card in last weekend’s draw at Southampton. However, they do have their strong midfield duo, and Soucek, fit and flying ahead of Sunday’s encounter. And Sinclair believes the Red Devils’ defensive-midfield options don’t hold a candle to either Hammers star. : “I’ve said it last season, we were talking about this exact fixture, and I said Declan Rice and Soucek would walk into the team. “I don’t think their two or three holding...
