Zack Snyder To Develop More Projects With Netflix Under First-Look Deal

Zack Snyder’s The Stone Quarry production company has signed a first-look deal at Netflix following the success of Army of the Dead.

Army of the Dead was the first project to come from Zack Snyder after departing Warner Bros. and the DC Extended Universe. Netflix recently shared that Army of the Dead is their biggest original of 2021 so far, and they are wasting no time getting on board with Snyder for future projects.

Zack Snyder Teams With Netflix For New Sci-Fi Adventure Film ‘Rebel Moon’

An Army of the Dead prequel and anime series are both coming to Netlfix already, and it was recently announced Zack Snyder will direct Rebel Moon next for the streamer. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Rebel Moon will be the first of a new first-look between Snyder’s The Stone Quarry production banner and Netflix that will also include a sequel to Army of the Dead and so much more. Here’s what Snyder said in a statement about his plans with the new Netflix deal:

“My goal and hope are to bring as much quality content as I can and do it on a giant scale. Big projects and big movies.”

Zack Snyder’s wife and producing partner, Deborah, later added why she feels Netflix is the perfect place to develop their future projects:

“For us, it was so important to find a partnership that was based on mutual respect. The creative process works best when everybody trusts each other and you can take chances and be creative. For us, we don’t usually play it safe. The content we make is a little bit edgier. And I think it’s important to have a good partnership and hear each other. And Netflix has given us a lot of freedom. But they’ve also embraced the idea of trying new things and not necessary waiting for a success before moving ahead. A consumer isn’t going to be waiting two years for more and that is exciting. I give them a lot of credit for developing that partnership and trust. Zack is really good at world building We’ve done that with the comics for so long that to do something original is the ultimate challenge and we’re up for that.”
